Commercial Fleet Adapter Safety
Megawatt Charging System (MCS)
To support class 8 heavy-duty trucks, maritime vessels, and electric aviation, the industry is transitioning beyond the 350-500 kW limits of CCS to the Megawatt Charging System (MCS). Designed by CharIN, MCS pushes charging capacities up to 3.75 MW, utilizing a significantly larger plug topology designed entirely around active thermal management and massive current throughput.
MCS Baseline Specifications
| Parameter | Specification Limit | Engineering Note |
|---|---|---|
| Max Operational Voltage | 1,250 VDC | Matches isolation limits of modern heavy-inverters. |
| Max Continuous Current | 3,000 A | Requires advanced active liquid cooling in both cable and connector head. |
| Physical Architecture | Triangular multi-pin | Integrated automation alignment guides for robotic deployment. |
| Communication | ISO 15118 (PLC) + Ethernet | Ethernet overlay required for high-frequency telemetry and predictive thermal limits. |
